Amanda

SHARED ROOM

As an artist painter living and working in NYC, my life is filled with encounters of all kinds. I paint but I also work for sculptors. This city has something for everybody.

Gail

PRIVATE ROOM

I'm easy going, funny, expressive and love to meet new people and learn about new things. Honesty is key in all things and laughter helps keep us young. I like a positive flow of energy in my space and people are welcome in my home with an open heart and generosity of spirit.

Todd

PRIVATE ROOM & SHARED ROOM

Todd Lanier Lester is an artist, writer, curator and cultural producer. He founded freeDimensional, a network that helps artists in danger by providing safe haven in participating artist residencies.

Patricia

SHARED ROOM

I do many things, and always have. Most of my professional career I spent doing politics and human rights. Two years ago life changed dramatically and I decided to leave the country and backpack for a year. It was one of the best decisions I've ever taken. Since I've been back, I have been unable to stop painting--I did before too, but never at the current scale and pace, or frankly, level.

Michael

PRIVATE ROOM

I work in multiple forms and disciplines in order to trace the lines of political and symbolic power, as it takes shape online. I'm interested in the ways in which new technologies impact our lives, and the politics and poetics of technological subjectivities.

Monika

PRIVATE ROOM

I examine the notion of perception by questioning whether the world we live in, is but a mental construction; my artistic practice is used as a tool to decipher the laws that govern the world I live in.
My apt is in Williamsburg, 5 mins to Marcy Av and 10 to Bedford Ave and same to metropolitan ave stations, it is full of light on the fifth floor and it is filled with real artwork that I have either traded or collected.

Testimonials

My experiences with Human Hotel have been
excellent. My first stay was in NYC and I have just recently extended my second stay in Berlin because I am finding the experience so enriching.

Human Hotel’s friendly communications and
thoughtful attention to detail are exceptional. What makes this service better than other travel services, is being able to connect with people in their terrific network of professional artists, curators and creatives.

Gabrielle S.

Multidisciplinary Artist, Great Barrington

My host and I genuinely connected… In a time when there’s so much disconnect from each other in the world, it is really important to create and take opportunities to talk to strangers and hear about each other’s lived experiences and ideas.

★★★★★

Kimberley S.

Graphic Designer, Vancouver

I’ve been hosting guests with Human Hotel since their very first hosting experiment at the UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen all the way back in 2009. I’ve met some amazing people along the way. In some cases, my guests turned into friends.
