ABOUT MY SPACE
Beautiful, airy, spacious attic room with a large window and two skylights. This used to be my studio, it is now a comfortable and tranquil guest room. Wooden floors, double glazing, central heating, plenty of storage, light-excluding blinds, sofa, desk if you need to work, piano if you need to play.Next door to the bathroom ( shared with your hostess, though not at the same time!) The room is at the stop of a two storey maisonette, so bear in mind 42 steps or so.
The neighbourhood of Dalston in Zone 2 has become rather fashionable in recent years, having always attracted artists. It has the largest population of artists and artist studios in the UK, and is now home to many creative professionals in design, fashion and media as well as your regular hipster. It also has a varied and wonderful ethnic population and the famous Riley Rd market reflects that diversity in it its varied and often exotic fare. Not surprisingly Dalston boasts an incredible array of independent cafes with excellent coffee, many eating places ( Turkish but everything else too), vintage stores, a nightlife which draws people from all over London, the wonderful Rio Cinema ( mainstream as well as fringe films), Vortex jazz Club and the splendid Arcola Theatre - all of them within 5-8 minutes walk from your base.
Getting into town - West End or the City - is quick and easy with huge array of buses and two Overground stations which will get you to the tube network in 5 minutes. As an example - it takes me 25 minutes from my place to the National Gallery ( Leicester Sq station ) door to door.

ABOUT MY WORK
Landscape painting in mixed media. I developed the technique over years. It includes plaster, resin, was, sand, pigments and anything else which will stick. I travel extensively looking for motifs, photograph them and work on them in the studio.
