I look forward to opening the home, gallery and garden to artists over the summer, and introducing them to the area and artist networks

The icing room is an artist-run space in Walthamstow (in East London). We are a growing collective committed to experimental practice who work across media, hosting exhibitions and events, and producing our own publications to generate income for the space. We want to open up the studio as a bedroom for visiting artists and creatives...

More about the space is here:

The space is a light, airy, quiet two bed flat with a little garden, close to the William Morris Gallery and park, and also well located for transport (Victoria Line which is 24hr at weekends and Overground). I am leaving for Lisbon for a couple of months and so the whole flat is available for an artist / couple of artists who might want to have an extended stay in London. It's a great time to be here - all the degree shows kicking off, and I have a good network of local artists to put you in touch with. There are two bedrooms, but the bed in the studio can be folded up so the room can be used as a studio space (and often is!)

I'd offer a monthly rate so please get in touch!

I work across different media, although the starting point is often text. I see my practice as a series of collisions between text and object, resulting in sculptures, installations and materials that rest in the tentative space - or threshold - between the two. I founded the icing room collective and gallery in June 2016 as a way to explore the poetics of space.
